Day 2: Truro, Cadgwith Cove and The Waymarker

Truro

We took a look at the High Street.

Then had a look at the Cathedral.

Down by the Catholic Church there's a road island on which they had two topiary Spitfires, to commemorate seventy five years of the Battle of Britain.

Cadgwith Cove

The teenage son, Toby, of our twitter pal Sally, died aged 16 at Cadgwith Cove. There's a bench there to celebrate his life and the fun he was having on the day he died. Cadgwith is a very beautiful and tranquil place.

As we had an appointment, we couldn't stay long, but we wanted to pay tribute to Toby so we kicked some lovely people off his bench so we could take this picture. They were very gracious about it.

If you plan to visit Cadgwith Cove, there's a car park as you head into the village - use it. It is very tight and no fun if you meet someone driving the other way!

The Waymarker

We drove through some windy roads, but it was worth it. We were meeting our twitter pals LT, Lu and Christian (the cool bears in sunglasses) for a cream tea - well, you have to have a cream tea in Cornwall - and Rhiannon, who runs The Waymarker, was waiting for us. We took a picture outside in the sun before heading inside and choosing our scones.

Oh my bear, we did well! Lots of jam and clotted cream, jam first of course! They were the lightest scones ever! There's even a bear's playground outside so we got a couple more photos before it was time to leave the VIBs.

We headed back to the house for a buffet dinner - had to use some of that food and drink some more beer!
