London Bear Beer Tweetup

9th November 2014

Under the watchful eye of Jezza @BonsVoeux1 we are getting an introduction to the good beers of London.

We are meeting at Duke's Brew and Que @DukesJoint for a hearty brunch. The table is booked from 11am. We plan to eat around 11.30am and be on our way by 12.30pm or so.

Dukes is the original home of the amazing Beavertown Brewery and, although the brewery has now moved to larger premises, several of their beers will be available for sampling, along with a wide range of guest beers.

Jezza has booked the table in the name "Jezza" (great originality) and hopes to be there - with Arpad - from 11am. We are still working out how to identify each other - won't be so hard for those that have already met and in part because some bears will be clutching their humans out of shyness! Not me, obviously.

We have eleven humans confirmed and two (cat and dog and/or their humans) later.

Our second stop will be the The Fox, @thefoxe8 Haggerston - a pub offering 100 beers, just around the corner from Dukes.

After The Fox, we are planning a canalside walk (weather permitting) to allow everyone to work up a renewed thirst. It is about a mile via the canal to Islington, where we plan to take in (hopefully) all of the following rather excellent pubs:

The Earl of Essex @theearlofessex1

The Charles Lamb @thecharleslamb

The Three Johns @TheThree_Johns - where more food is available - they do some lovely pizzas

The Craft Beer Co. @craftbeercoN1

The tweetup will officially end around 6pm very near Angel Station, which is on the Northern Line and very handy for your onward travel. Anyone who doesn't have to rush for a train or get back for their bear-ty sleep is welcome to linger on in the last pub (or any one of a number of other handy local hostelries, details of which will be available for any bears who might still be thirsty!)

Our beer guide for the day is @bonsvoeux1 whose beer guide is online at Beer Guide London, follow @beerguidelondon where you can find details of all the pubs, including some handy maps like this which shows the location of Dukes and The Fox.

We look forward to seeing you on 9th November - if you didn't sign up yet, let me know! We should be able to add you on!

This is the current plan - if anyone has any suggestions, changes, tweaks to make their tweetup better, tell me at TourGuideTed@gmail.com or tweet (or DM) me on Twitter @TourGuideTed - You can even add comments below now!
